Bottle Gourd Seeds

Bottle gourd also known as calabash (Lagenaria siceraria) has a deep connection to humans and for good reason. This plant allowed humans to possess potable water prior to the discovery of pottery and woven baskets. Many cultures still utilize gourds today for a variety of tasks such as utensils, instruments, bird houses, etc. Some cultures even eat the fruit and/or seeds when young though do exercise caution with this as there is some toxic compounds found within the juice of the gourd though the juice is bitter indicating poision content. Regardless do your own research if you plan to consume the gourd I (Flint and Fish) am not encouraging nor discouraging the culinary use of bottle gourd, but encourage one to do their own research and risk assessment.
